Got bored with civilian life after being a para in WW2... him and his Mate decided to join up to SAS... 100% mentalist... used to come back from leave and sleep in the garden... one of his jobs was stoking up militia to fight the commies... he used to pay them in aspirin... could not work out how a tiny pill could sort out their headaches... before that they would drill holes in their head... when equipment was dropped would always ensure that vast amounts of aspirin was included

My Uncle was SAS... Malaya campaign in the late 40's early 50's... wasn't so much special forces then rather than a load of lunatics running round naked in the jungle whilst fighting the communists...

I know a fellow whos best mate was special forces. They get (or at least got) a fucking great pension. Plus all the extra work you can get out of it security etc.

The new guy in this series was SAS - as was the sweaty from series 1.

Yeah no quibbles ... he was superb... I like watching the physical side of selection procedure but the mental stuff is what gets me... astonishing stuff. When Ant was talking about his selection process with the Rti... he had to endure a video of a woman getting attacked whilst her daughter watched... this was played on a continuous loop... again and again... fuck that

Yeah me and the missus called him in the first episode when they called him and the other lag in.
He'd completely turned his life around, where as the other bloke was an even bigger cunt than when jailed.
Plus the big man faced every fear he had. It's strange how many black fella's are scared of water and can't swim. Know a couple myself.
